It's Easy to Draw Exceeded Expectations of Understanding from Your Point of View
There can be a fine line between "what a trainer should expect out of the student" compared to what is a realistic. For instance, where a correction might be made on giving the correct pronunciation to the -er/-or/-ir/-ur finial sounds in English words to a foreign speaker who opens that part of the word to an /ah/ - it is expected the student will make a change at least after ten weeks of instruction. That is realistic. However, there are times the trainer might unreasonably find oneself a bit on the edge of impatience weighing - unfairly - a higher expectation of acquirement. In most cases, it is the expectation that the student actually understands what is being said.
Following is a most realistic perception from the point-of-view of the student, rather than the trainer.
